The Imo State Police Command said yesterday that it paraded a 20-year-old student from Imo State University, IMSU, for allegedly having a pistol for “personal protection.”

State Police Public Relations Officer Orlando Ikeokwo stated this in a statement to reporters in Owerri.

According to the police, it was based on a preliminary investigation into the suspect.

“On 9/5/21, while on crime prevention and intensive patrol, officers from the divisional police headquarters, Shell Camp, Owerri, intercepted a 20-year-old Onyeme Victor Chimaobi” Male “, a native of Umuguma, Owerri West LGA, a Mechanical Engineering student at Imo State University, after physically searching, locally made pistols and two live ammunition were recovered. “
