A group supporting the presidential ambition of Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, Nigeria Youths Awareness Group, has repudiated the presidential campaign posters of the governor and Femi Fani-Kayode.

On the posters, they appeared as presidential candidates and running mates for the 2023 presidential election.

But the group, in a statement from its national president, Alhaji Salihu Magaji, made available to journalists in Bauchi, said Governor Bello was not aware of or approved of printing the posters.

According to Magaji, the governor of Kogi state had no prior knowledge of the posters and flyers, did not even know the group or the people behind them.

“We have been struck by the posters and flyers designed as posters for Governor Yahaya Bello’s campaign with Femi Fani-Kayode, former Minister of Aviation, as Vice President of Yahaya Bello. The images are circulating on social media and were also posted by an online outlet that campaigned for the 2023 presidential ambition and the vice president on his behalf.

“We want to state categorically that Governor Bello has no prior knowledge of that. His Excellency knows neither the group nor the people behind the posters and flyers, ”Magaji said.

He further said that the governor knew well that only one running mate would be selected after winning the party’s primary elections and wondered why Fani-Kayode, who just joined the ruling party last week, might share the presidential candidacy with him. Governor Bello.

”His Excellency, as a responsible governor, very sensitive to the plight and well-being of the citizens, cannot and will not support such premature intentions, especially at this crucial time.

“Everybody knows that in politics there is a procedure for everything: Vice-presidents are usually elected after successful primaries. But how can Femi Fani-Kayode, who joined APC two days ago, have a joint ticket with the respected exemplary democratic leader, Yahaya Bello, without following due procedures? It is not possible ”, affirmed.

However, he called on the governor’s supporters to be calm, focused, declaring that 2023 is in God’s hands, and urged Nigerians not to be fooled by anyone or group using Yahaya Bello’s name to achieve their political goals.

“We want to inform all Yahaya Bello supporters to remain calm and focused and understand that Governor Bello is not aware of the cartels.

“2023 is in the hands of Almighty God, who is in fact the benefactor of each of his loved ones, who is the only one who can enthrone and dethrone. We pray to Allah Almighty to give Yahaya Bello the opportunity to become the next president of Nigeria, ”he said.
