Building on the excitement of a successful N20 million scholarship offered to some Nigerian undergraduates recently, information and communications technology, ICT and training company HiiT Plc is also preparing to train up to 2,500 Nigerian graduates in the 36 states of the federation.
The company said it is part of activities to mark the 60th anniversary of Nigerian independence and also a way to support the empowerment of young people in the country.
According to the firm, no less than 60 resident graduates in each state, including Abuja, will be selected for this exercise.
He advised interested graduates under the age of 35 to visit his website to confirm the qualifications required for the opportunity to be awarded on a first come, first serve basis.
The company’s CEO, Mr. Kayode Shobajo, said that around 60 percent off exercise would be offered on 30 world-trending ICT courses through the HiiT online training portal, a training portal run by instructors.
He said: “To qualify for a discount voucher, all a graduate needs to do is visit the website or scan a QR code that is visibly displayed on the website. The discount voucher offer will close on October 10 and will be valid for a period of one year, ”said Shobajo.
He indicated that some of the courses that will be offered in the program include Certificate in Digital Literacy, Digital Marketing, Certified Ethical Hacker, Graphic Design, Python Programming, Web Design, Java Programming, Data Analysis, Microsoft Excel (Advanced) and CompTIA. N +. Others include JavaScript programming, Python for data science, cloud computing, and PHP programming, among others.
Shobajo highlighted the enormous success of the company’s recent scholarship program for Nigerian university students as its contribution to cushioning the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It revealed that HiiT’s online training offers instructor-led training alongside other training methodology that includes interactive live classes, videos, slides, whiteboards, and simulation labs to impact information technology (IT) skills that are highly demanded by employers.
