Nigeria’s leading telecom provider 9mobile congratulated MobiHealth International founder Dr. Funmi Adewara for winning the World Bank SDGs and HER Global Award 2020.
Adewara was one of seven women entrepreneurs recognized for using her entrepreneurial skills to support the SDGs through her business leadership and health crisis management.
Speaking on behalf of 9mobile, Executive Director, Regulatory and Corporate Affairs, Abdulrahman Ado, congratulated MobiHealth International on its commitment to combat health problems by providing access to telemedicine services.

“The award is a testament to their tireless efforts to provide a comprehensive service that unites thousands of Nigerians with world-class healthcare.
“Our partnership with MobiHealth was part of concerted efforts to protect healthcare workers and citizens by providing access to telemedicine consultations to slow the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the country.

The award ceremony was held on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City, United States of America.
Recall that MobiHealth International partnered with 9mobile to spearhead telemedicine solutions in Nigeria in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
9mobile supported MobiHealth International to launch a FREE online COVID-19 screening and teleconsultation service for all Nigerians.
This service was aimed at mitigating the impact of the confinement and the restriction of movements as a consequence of the COVID-19 situation in the country.
The service provided Nigerians with access to highly trained and experienced physicians for primary care consultations via web, app, voice or video call from the comfort of their homes.
The telemedicine service was extended to Kano to fight other healthcare challenges.
