Akinwunmi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank (AfDB); Tony Elumelu, president of Heirs Holdings; Ibukun Awosika, President of First Bank Nigeria and other eminent personalities have congratulated News Central TV on its official launch.
Other dignitaries who congratulated the newly opened television station are Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, South African Minister of Planning Monitoring and Evaluation; Sahar Nasr, Minister of Investment and International Cooperation of Egypt, and David Makhura, Prime Minister of Gauteng, South Africa.
Others are Loius Jean-Ekra, former president of Afrexim Bank; Goddie Ibru, President of Sheraton Hotels; Toyin Sanni, Executive Director of Emerging Africa; Rumundaka Wonodi, CEO of ZKJ Energy Partners; Mustapha Nzei, CEO of Taf Global and Raj Kulasingam, Senior Advisor to Dentons.
Adesina, in her congratulatory message, said: “It’s about perception. News Central, congratulations. “
Awosika, for her part, said: “News Central, I congratulate you,” while Elumelu said: “Congratulations to News Central. We need more like you. “
The television station, which said its vision is to build Africa’s most respected media brand on television, mobile and the web, officially launched on New Year’s Day, January 1.
The management of the television station also said that its mission is “to bring Africa to the world, telling the true African story from an African perspective, using diversity, creativity and technology.”

He added: “News Central has embraced the diversity of Africa and Africans to represent the dreams, aspirations, spirit, colors and humanity of the people of the continent.
