At a recent event held in Lekki Lagos, Nigerian-owned production and distribution company, FilmOne, showcased a series of films set to be released later this year.
Moses Babatope, Deputy CEO of FilmHouse Group, opened the event by expressing his gratitude to attendees, recognizing the hard work of FilmHouse Group staff and setting the tone for an exciting evening of cinematic revelations.
Upcoming films include Hollywood films such as Freelance, The Killer, Bank Alert, Journey to Bethlehem and Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
Others are Napoleon, The Wonders, Aqua man and the Lost Kingdom.
The entertainment powerhouse has promised a wide range of genres and themes, ensuring there is something for every film buff’s tastes.
From fast-paced action to heart-pounding dramas and imaginative fantasies to thought-provoking narratives, Film One Entertainment says it is prepared to deliver an unparalleled cinematic adventure.
Featured Nollywood titles on the line-up include:
– Adire
Adire tells the story of a retired prostitute who runs away and moves to a small town and starts a lingerie manufacturing business (made from her signature Adire material), which inevitably empowers conservative women. But her efforts infuriate the self-proclaimed leader, Folasade, deaconess and wife of the town preacher. The film, directed by Adeoluwa Owu, featured actors such as Damilola Ogunsi, Femi Branch and Adebola Adeyela.

Directed by Biodun Stephen, ‘Small Talk’ explores the consequences of a devoted driver’s meaningless chatter that leads to a robbery at his boss’s house, testing the limits of loyalty and the power of silence.
It tells the story of an overzealous driver who announces to everyone that his beloved boss is returning to Nigeria. When the boss is robbed and investigations begin, he is at the center of it all. The film featured casts such as Arimoro, Moet Abebe, Blessing Nze, Greg Ojefua, Isabae U, Ajayi Korexx, Lizzy Jay, Timilehin Ojeola, Mofe Okorodudu, Bouche Oluwatosin and Micheal John.

As fear grips the remaining trapped workers, a detective is called in to unravel the riddle behind the black magic and expose the culprit before more lives are lost. The film featured Bolaji Ogunmola, Uzor Arukwe, Femi Jacobs, Lateef Ademeji and Omowunmi Dada.

A former banker stumbles upon £500 million in his dormant bank account, setting off a chain of events in this suspense thriller starring Okey Bakassi, Kate Henshaw, Kanayo O. Kanayo and Bolanle Ninolowo.
-‘Afamefuna: A story of Nwa Boi’
Directed by Kayode Kasum, this film celebrates the rags-to-riches journey in the heartland of Nnewi, with captivating performances by Stan Nze, Alex Ekubo, Kanayo O. Kanayo and Atlanta Bridget Johnson.
