No fewer than two suspected kidnappers have been killed in the Iwajowa local government area of ​​Oyo State.

Newslodge gathered on Saturday that the two suspects were killed during a failed kidnapping attempt by the kidnappers who stormed the town of Iwere-Ile on Friday.

Sources told Newslodge that the kidnappers broke into the community around 3 p.m. Friday and tried to kidnap some of the residents.

It was learned that Amotekun agents immediately arrived on the scene around 3:30 pm, engaged the thugs in a shootout, killing two.

Three other members of the kidnappers’ union escaped with gunshot wounds, Newslodge reported.

Amotekun commander Olayinka Olayanju confirmed the incident to Newslodge on Saturday.

Olayanju revealed that weapons were recovered from the alleged kidnappers, adding that they have been deposited with the police.

Olayanju, who spoke, further maintained that the operation was carried out in collaboration with local vigilantes and hunters.

“That’s what happened.

“The weapons recovered from the kidnappers have been deposited with the police.

“The operation was carried out with local vigilantes and hunters,” he said.
