Kogi State gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ahmed Ododo, leads with a total of 402,598 votes after the results of 18 local government areas of the state were announced.
Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate Murtala Ajaka is trailing with a total of 187,680 votes from the same local governments.
The APC candidate leads the SDP with a total of 214,918 votes.
The number of votes with which the APC leads cancels out the number of PVC voters in the nine canceled wards of Ogori/Mangogo LGA.
The number of registered voters in the nine districts of Ogori Mangogo is 15,424.
The PDP candidate, Dino Melaye, occupies a distant third position with 37,391 votes from the 18 local administrations already declared.
The remaining three local government areas are Lokoja, Ibaji and Igalamela LGAs.
Ibaji and Igalamela are from Kogi East senatorial zone, the stronghold of the SDP candidate.
Lokoja, the state capital, is located in the Kogi West senatorial zone, which has been largely dominated by the APC.

It is unclear whether the SDP candidate will be able to close the gap between himself and his APC opponent to win the election outright or force a rerun.
SDP operatives are already calling for the annulment of the results in the central senatorial district, where the APC polled a large number of votes, alleging irregularities.
But APC party agents at the collection center rejected the call, saying the elections were free and fair.
