Seven months after filing a N1 billion lawsuit against Halima Abubakar, Apostle Suleman Johnson, the Founder of Omega Fire Ministries InternationalHe is ready to take his case before the Nollywood actress in court.

On March 27, the date on which the hearing of the case was to be held, neither the actress nor her lawyer appeared before the Honorable Court.
The case was then adjourned until June 6 and 7 for a hearing.
In the latest development, Apostle Suleman’s lawyers say they are ready to press and establish their client’s claims for damages against Abubakar, whom they described as the social media queen of mercy.
Open and close
The lawyers for Apostle Suleman said they are ready to open and close their client’s case during the two days allotted to them by the court.
A statement signed by Abdul Mahmud, Counselor to Apostle Suleiman, says that the goal is to ensure justice for his client, who has been wrongfully attacked, slandered and criminally maligned by an actress whose sinister intent is to blackmail our client for monetary gain.
Mr. Mahmud further stated that he will “expose her lies” and show that she is unwilling to subject her set of lies and unsubstantiated claims to judicial scrutiny, hence her refusal to present her defense against our client’s lawsuit or to appear. Before the court
“We are ready to open and close our client’s case during the two days that the Honorable Court has in its judicial powers assigned to our client in his file,” he said.
Background
In 2022, Abubakar repeatedly accused the controversial cleric of reneging on his promise to marry her.
She also said that he was behind an undisclosed life-threatening ailment that had plagued her for years.
The preacher then issued a cease and desist notice to the actress.
The cleric accused her of posting malicious, defamatory and demeaning statements about him on various microblogging sites, mainly Gistlover.
This did not deter Ms Abubakar, who announced that she had stopped acting and went ahead to give more interviews about her alleged affair with the preacher.
This prompted the Apostle to seek a court order to refrain from further comment and publish a retraction of her earlier statements in five national newspapers within three days of Thursday.
It also demanded that he give him a letter in which he fully assures and promises to desist from publishing previous and future defamatory statements against him.

Interestingly, Ms. Abubakar, who announced her departure from the film industry on October 22, has yet to respond to any of the latest threats from the fierce cleric.
