Anambra state billionaire businessman Prince Arthur Eze emerged first Saturday to land on the rehabilitated runway at Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.
Eze landed with Aviation Minister Senator Hadi Sirika, who said he landed with Eze’s private jet to test the rebuilt three-kilometer runway.
Sirika landed with Eze’s 5N-PAZ jet at 4:47 pm, before the airport’s official reopening on Sunday.
Eze said the airport has become standard and congratulated President Buhari for his interventions in the infrastructure of the southeast.
Aviation Minister Sirika confirmed that the airport will resume flight activities from Sunday, August 30, after the final inspection and response ceremony.
