The Union of Academic Personnel of Universities, ASUU, suspended its industrial action on Wednesday.
ASUU President Professor Biodun Ogunyemi revealed this during a press conference on Wednesday, after the union’s ongoing negotiation with the Federal Government.
Recall that ASUU had been on strike for about nine months.
The prolonged strike was due to the alleged delay by the government in complying with the agreements reached with the union.
ASUU had started the current strike in March 2019.
“We will once again strive for our students to excel. We go back to classes and we call on parents to work with us for the revitalization of the universities, ”said the president of ASUU.
