After 16 years of marriage, the famous Nollywood actor Bolanle Ninalowo has announced his separation from his wife, Bunmi.
The couple reportedly met in 2004 and married in 2007. They have two children together, a boy and a girl.
Prior to this development, the actor and his wife were said to have split over cheating allegations in 2019, but reconciled in 2021.
On Friday, the actor made his announcement via an official statement on his Instagram.
The actor admitted that it was a sad reality for him and his children, but it was necessary for a peaceful future.
He wrote: “My wife and I have decided to go our separate ways and are headed toward an irreconcilable dissolution of marriage.”
“Please respect our privacy and pray for us through this process as we heal and move on with our independent lives while jointly caring for what we love most: our children!”
While expressing his sadness, he acknowledged that, in the end, all people will live with the consequences of their actions.
The actor also noted that now he has to be better for the sake of the same children, adding that he fought very hard to never part with his wife.
“The journey so far only makes me stronger as I embrace what I really need and deserve for all my tireless work and efforts in life.”
“Heartbroken but not yet broken, I stand my ground as I deliver this sad but true news to the very world that adores me and my beautiful family,” she added.

Nilinowo noted that the collapse of his marriage is a sad reality that he has accepted, hoping that when his children are older they will understand.
He said that he hoped they too would know the pain and struggles towards them.
According to him, he has accepted reality as the end of the road and that it gives rise and hope for a brighter and fuller future.
Explaining why they made this difficult decision, she said that it was for the sake of her children and that it was necessary for a peaceful and lovely future.

Background
Prior to Ninalowo’s foray into the Nigerian film industry, he worked as an accountant at a bank in the United States of America.
Moving to Nigeria, he worked with Guaranty Trust Bank.
Ninalowo’s first break in Nollywood was as a film producer. She produced her first film, titled “Rebirth”, in 2011.
