BREAKING: Baba Ijesha: TAMPAN suspends Yomi Fabiyi for the movie ‘Oko Iyabo’

The Association of Theater and Film Arts Professionals (TAMPAN) has suspended Baba Ijesha’s friend Yomi Fabiyi for his new film, ‘Oko Iyabo’.

The agency made the announcement in a statement on Friday titled “TAMPAN suspends Yomi Fabiyi indefinitely for serious professional misconduct and unethical practices.”

TAMPABN said that after hearing Fabiyi’s detailed defense, the Producer / Director of the controversial film ‘Oko Iyabo’ and his co-director, Dele Matti, the Ethics, Disputes and Resolution Committee found them guilty of misconduct.

They said that although Fabiyi insisted that it is his fundamental human right to use his creative talents to produce films, Matti admitted his guilt and regretted his participation in the film.

TAMPAN said that the artwork is a ‘Cinema Verite’ and that no one can use someone else’s real name in a feature film.

Film industry leaders said that it is a crime to use real names, stories and real events of people without their consent so as not to talk about a plot that denigrates that person.

“That the story, plot, theme, title, dialogue, names and general content of the film ‘Oko Iyabo’ is a factual presentation that can give rise to prejudices since the matter is already in trial.
