Speaking to reporters, Kogi State Environment Commissioner Chief Victor Omofaiye, who confirmed this on Saturday night, noted that Ijumu local government president Alhaji Taofiq Isa hijacked the forms for Congress and did not appear at the place agreed for the exercise.

Omofaiye described Taofiq’s conduct as an act of disloyalty and a serious disrespect for the direction of the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, that all existing interim executives at the district level be returned as new party executives.

The member representing the Ijumu constituency in the State Assembly House, Hon. Kilani Olumo, for his part, described the incident as unfortunate and an act of insubordination to the executive governor of Kogi state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

“It is very unfortunate, the president scheduled the meeting to start at 12 noon and he cannot be found. I think it is uneducated and an act of insubordination for the Executive Governor of the state of Kogi to give them a directive and flaunt it, ”he began.

Speaking further, Governor Sunday Faleke’s deputy chief of staff described the congress in Ijumu LGA as concluded, adding that all party officials, state government appointments, and mid-party elected officials held a peaceful Congress, saying the president the council ran away with material choices.

In reaction to the accusation, the head of the Council, Alhaji Taofiq Isa, denied the conduct of the Parallel Ward Congress in the Local Government, describing his faction of the Congress as authentic.
