British comedian actor Roy Hudd is dead

Popular comedian and actor Roy Hudd died at the age of 83.

Her agent announced this in a statement released Monday.

Hudd died after a brief illness on Sunday afternoon.

The statement read: ‘We are sad to announce the passing of the much-loved and incredibly talented Roy Hudd OBE.

Roy passed away on Sunday afternoon, March 15, with his wife Debbie by his side after a brief illness.

"The family would ask you to respect your privacy at this very sad time."

Born in Croydon, Surrey, in 1936, Hudd began his career as a Red Coat in Clacton, on the Essex coast, alongside Harry Webb, who later found fame and fortune as Sir Cliff Richard.

The deceased starred in "The Terror of the Blood Beast", "Lipstick on the Neck", among others in the 90s.
