Following the incessant killings of innocent Nigerians by the men of the now reduced Special Anti-Theft Squad of the Nigerian Police, SARS, nonconformist musician Charly Boy has urged young Nigerians to rise up and fight the repressive administration.
Charly Boy made the call on Monday through his Instagram page. The nonconformist musician wrote:
“My dear young Nigerians”,
“Our elders say that when the ant bites you for the nyash, you must adapt. To tell the truth, we have been silent because of fear for a long time. “
“When will it be enough? This is not the life any of you imagined. You cannot continue in an environment that robs you of your destiny and kills your dream. Know your enemies, because it’s time to face them. “
“The time to start organizing is now, the time to stop dying now. The time to act is now. No one is too small to make a difference. “
Charly Boy’s call came in the context of renewed social media upheaval by youth and rights organizations, urging the police and government to remove the SARS unit, following the recent extrajudicial killings of Nigerian youth in Delta State.
