Coronavirus: the Italian patient recovers and will be discharged soon


Governor Dapo Abiodun of the state of Ogun has hinted that the Italian index, which tested positive for the deadly coronavirus last week, recovered completely.

Abiodun said the patient, who is in quarantine at the isolation center in Yaba, Lagos state, will be discharged soon.

DAILY POST reports that Governor Abiodun stated this while receiving the Lafarge PLC management team, led by his country's Executive Director, Mr. Khaleed El Dokani, at his office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, on Friday.

According to a statement signed by his chief press secretary, Kunle Somorin, the governor reported that his government would continue to consider the virus as a serious threat that deserves special attention, considering the state of the State as the nation's industrial center, with a large number expatriates , noting that the State is studying the possibility of establishing a biosafety center.

Abiodun said: “For us, the virus is serious and a problem that is in the foreground. We will not let our guard down, particularly due to the fact that we have a lot of industries and expats here. We are enjoying many support from the World Health Organization and the National Center for Disease Control. We are moving forward to prepare for the worst and hope for the best "

He applauded the company for its prompt response by quarantining the first index case and the first set of contacts, urging the company to maintain the level of attention paid to the problem, as he added: "I heard that the index patient is fine and will be discharged soon. "
