Otu, in a statement made available to journalists in Asaba, described media reports that the Speaker and House Clerk, Ms. Lyna Ochulor were arrested and detained by the EFCC as incorrect and malicious.

Noting that the report was the work of criminals who wanted to tarnish the good image of the Spokesperson, he explained that VAT and taxes were originally deducted by the General State Accounting Office from the value of the cars.

Explaining that the secretary who was invited by the EFCC to bring documentary evidence of the auto transaction based on a petition, said that the secretary returned the same day after presenting the documents requested by the Commission.

Otu maintained that the cars were purchased in accordance with the procurement law, adding that the petitioners decided to resort to blackmail after having failed in their diabolical act.
