The Ekiti government has ordered the immediate closure of all public and private schools following continued protests to end SARS across the state.
State Education, Science and Technology Commissioner Dr. Kofoworola Aderiye revealed this in a statement released Tuesday in Ado-Ekiti by Abimbola Dada, the ministry’s chief information officer.
He said the decision to close the schools was a proactive step in safeguarding the lives of pupils, students, teachers and other school personnel.
“It is also to adapt to the difficulties encountered by those who find it difficult to get to their respective schools,” he said.
Aderiye also said that school activities would resume on October 26.
