Peter trailblazer

Peter Adeleke, a rapidly growing comedian and sketch artist, is ready to take the entertainment industry by storm. In this interview, the Oyo State-born comic actor, popularly known as Peter Trailblazer, shares his journey into the world of entertainment. Excerpts

Who I am

My name is Peter Adeleke popularly known as Peter Trailblazer. I am a phenomenal comedian and parody creator from Ibadan, Oyo State, born January 23, 1996. I studied Microbiology at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. I grew up in Lagos with an interest in comic acting and decided to explore my talents with sketches. I had a very quiet childhood and then I became a very expressive person. I won the second edition of the Golden Penny Pasta Drama Contest held in Lagos in 2007.

At first

My journey towards content creation started in 2015 at Obafemi Awolowo University, I started a series of “Fun Life Partners” that went viral on campus.

Choice of career

I chose to act because I enjoy doing it and I like to inspire people through comedic acting. I create organic and spontaneous videos in shorter versions to reflect visual realities. All I wanted was to “educate” and I got better at it. It was a giant step and now I am happy with how things are going. I love using memes to create satire and sarcasm. I also use my comedy parody to promote brands.

Throw yourself into the spotlight

I’ve done a couple of skits, but the one that got me to fame was one of the corporate crazy series. It was the video of the proposal that Naira Marley reposted. In the video, I proposed to several random women and the women’s reactions were mind-boggling.

Naira Marley reposted the video on Instagram and Twitter.
Since then, my followers started to increase. I got a lot of messages from people that they really loved parody and that my career took a different turn.

On creating branded content

Creating promotional content for brands requires creativity, sympathy, humor, and uniqueness. And all of these are inherent in my skits. I create content that is unique to each brand by creating a fun conversation around the brand, but making sure that the message behind promoting the brand is clearly conveyed and resonates with the audience.

Dramatization and income

The entertainment sector is rich in employment. It is now reputed to be the second largest employer of labor in Nigeria after agriculture. Dramatization is becoming profitable because creativity is what drives this generation. In this generation, social media is more powerful than even television.

Social media has given many of us the platform to show our talents to the world through content creation on Instagram and YouTube channels. Many sketch creators use this platform to earn money by creating content. I created a content for a brand and they loved it and they paid me. That’s to show how lucrative the industry is.

Choice of comedy

Education and dramatization go hand in hand. Education is continuous learning regardless of the environment. It keeps me abreast of the latest skills and keeps me relevant in the entertainment industry. Education has given me the opportunity to take advantage of my skills in dramatization production.

Future collaboration

Currently, the person my followers mention is Taaooma. And I approached her, but I still have not received a response. My fans have always been anticipating and have contacted me to collaborate with Taaooma. However, I would also love to collaborate with Zicsaloma and Sydneytalker.

Side hustle

Comedy aside, I’m a high-profile competitor for big-name and one-of-a-kind events like weddings and corporate gatherings.
