Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has reacted to a penalty missed by Nigerian international Kenechi Iheanacho during Foxes’ 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Monday.

Leicester failed to score all three points against Palace when Iheanacho fired a kick in the first half at the hands of goalkeeper Vicente Guaita.

The Super Eagles star, who hasn’t scored for Leicester since July 2020, squandered the opportunity to put the Foxes ahead 1-0 in the 18th minute.

Ivorian Wilfried Zaha scored for the home team in the 58th minute via a counterattack before Harvey Barnes restored parity with seven minutes remaining.

Rodgers, however, defended the Nigerian forward, insisting that Iheanacho had done very well during practice before the trip to the match.

“I said at halftime, it’s something you have to let go of,” Rodgers told Amazon Prime.

“He practiced yesterday and got five out of five correct, so I was sure, but it’s just one of those things.”
