The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) has begun contracting in the Federal Plan for Teachers (FTS) for the periods 2020 and 2021.

Ossom Ossom, Public Relations Officer for UBEC, made the confirmation to the Nigerian News Agency (NAN) on Monday.

The FTS intervention program was established by the Federal Government in 2006 to help states address teacher shortages at the basic education level.

The requirements to apply are Bachelor of Education or Bachelor with Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE),

The grade must not be lower than that of a second class (lower division) and must not have been obtained before 2014.

Applicants are expected to have completed or are exempt from the National Youth Services Scheme (NYSC).

Those with Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE), credit passes in Teaching Practice and Teaching Subjects, not earned before 2014, are eligible.

Applicant must have major in any of the following: English language, mathematics, integrated science, biology, chemistry, physics, and agricultural science.

Others are home economics, computer science, technical / technology education, computer science or information technology, Nigerian languages, physical and health education.

Applicants must not be over 35 years of age and must not be currently employed or enrolled in the NYSC, N-Power, or any other similar program.

They are expected to complete the application forms online, visiting https: //fts.admissions.clouds

Applicants must also upload their credentials with their most recent passport photographs. The application portal would open for two weeks, from September 10 to 24, without any extension, ”said UBEC.

Shortlisted candidates will appear for the Computer-Based Test (CBT) on October 10 at designated centers in each state capital.
