(re-elected as president of the African Development Bank) and Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala (first woman / first African director general of the World Trade Organization) in recent times.

“If the president of the NFF wins the job, it would not be a victory only for the Federal Government and all Nigerians, but for the African continent. As a member of the CAF Executive, Pinnick is aware of the task ahead and of the support of the Federal Government for the realization of his dream ”, said Anako.

He added: “On behalf of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, and all Nigerians, we hereby pledge our unwavering support to Mr. Pinnick because his victory would be our collective victory.

“(Sports Minister) Mr Dare believes that Amaju can use his position and his connections at CAF and FIFA to help promote and develop Nigerian and African football in all its ramifications. Let us be determined and firm in our support … This is not the time to stand on the fence, but to participate in the scheme of things. “
