The fire has destroyed 150 makeshift shops in the Central Market of Kachako in Takai Local Government Area from Kano State.
This news of the fire incident is contained in a statement issued in Kano by Kano State Fire Service spokesman Saminu Abdullahi.
He said the incident occurred on Monday afternoon.
“We received a distress call at the Takai Fire Station at around 1:13 p.m. from the Local Government Security Service Unit and immediately dispatched our rescue team to the scene around 1:21 p.m. to prevent the fire spread to the other stores. .

“The dimension of the market place is about 2,000 feet by 1,500 feet used as a central market.
“We successfully saved nearly 800 shelters from the state fire,” the statement said.
He said the fire was suspected to have been caused by smokers as the day was a market day.
