Acting Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Dauda Ali Biu, has denounced the incessant knockdowns/crushing of Patrol officers as a result of the recklessness of some drivers who have continually violated the legally prescribed speed limit.
He said this while mourning the deaths of two Corps officers while pledging the Corps’ determination to apprehend the perpetrators of this deadly act and force them to face the wrath of the law.
Mr. Ali Biu made this statement following the unfortunate crushing death of two Federal Road Safety Corps patrol officers by a truck driver along the Ikot-Ikpene – Aba route on Friday, November 25, 2022. .
The accident occurred as a result of the driver of a DAF articulated truck speeding excessively while trying to avoid a pothole along the axle, according to a statement made available to PREMIUM TIMES by assistant corps marshal Bisi Kazeem. .
According to the preliminary investigation, the fatal accident involved an FRSC patrol vehicle and a white truck. The road accident affected a total of eight male adults, of whom two suffered serious injuries, two died while the remaining two passengers were rescued without injury.

The injured have been transferred to the Ikot Ekpene General Hospital and the dead deposited in the morgue of the same hospital respectively, the statement highlights.
The Acting Marshal of the Corps, expresses his deepest condolences to the families of the General Staff who lost their lives on active duty while assuring the public of the resiliency and determination of the Corps to ensure that the perpetrators of such a poor driving culture are forced to to face the law; or desist from such an act in compliance with acceptable road safety standards, as the Corps will not forgive anyone involved in this deadly act of recklessness on the road.
