The Federal Highway Safety Corps (FRSC) will create a special task force to apply for vehicle license plates and a driver’s license to disinfect the driving culture in Rivers state, an official revealed. .
The new Sector Commander in the state, Corps Commander Salisu Galadunci, unveiled him during a visit to the Secretary of the Rivers State Government (SSG), Mr. Tammy Danagogo, on Monday in Port Harcourt.
He said the initiative would ensure the safety of lives and property of road users, in addition to improving revenue generation for the state.
Galadunci also praised the state government for its various contributions to the command services.
“I am aware of the cordial relationship with us, the latest being the donation of five new JAC brands of Pick-Up vehicles to the command.
“I pledge to continue developing this relationship to improve sanity in the driving culture of the state’s residents,” said Galadunci.
The Sector Commander also said that the Tuition Machine Replacement Center has been established in the state, adding that the provision of accommodation at the office would improve its quick start.
In response, Danagogo expressed his satisfaction with the laudable programs envisioned by the new Sector Commander and applauded him for his willingness to serve.
He also said that Governor Nyesome Wike has approved helping the Corps establish the License Plate Replacement Machine Center.
According to him, accommodation and other needs have also been put into practice to launch his operations.
Danagogo promised to follow up with the governor to come up with a start date for the center.
