The former Minister of Education of the State, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, has entrusted to the members of the National Association of the Union ‘Okada’, the need to always support the administration of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, so that he ends up stronger.
Gbagi, one of the top gubernatorial hopefuls under the platform of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, made the call on Monday when the union visited him at his Oginibo residence in the state’s Ughelli South Local Government Area.
He instructed commercial motorcycle operators to register when the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, begins the Continuous Registration Exercise so that those who are 18 years of age or older register so that they can exercise their franchise in the next elections.
While thanking them for their peaceful disposition and respect for the acting governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, he noted that the governor would be motivated to do more for the deltas, if he had the proper support.
He said: “I want to thank you equally that you have greatly respected the governor of the state and let me tell you this unless you work and pray for the governor, he cannot do much and if all we have is bad mouth. , will not do more. If you install a king, you worship him.
“If you are all with one mind, go ahead and sign up because that will be done anytime from now. My call and request to you today is that all those who have up to 18 years in their family who have not registered go to register ”.
He reiterated that he is one of the three founding members of the PDP, adding: “When we founded the party, we did not find it for the children who joined yesterday and those we gave them Commissioners and Public Officials to come and lead us. This was not how we planned it ”.
Gbagi, promised that he would continue to support them to make sure they do their jobs with ease.
“If they talk about motorcycles, what I have released this year alone, there are more than a thousand. What I am most happy about is that the people of Okada in Delta State are largely peaceful. “
The aspiring governor revealed that he would industrialize the state in order to create job opportunities for young people, ensuring that they would have paid employment.
Previously, the union had asked the PDP to allow the state’s top candidate for governor and former education minister, Olorogun Gbagi, to blow up the party’s gubernatorial bid in 2023.
Lawrence Usemoney, who led members of the Ughelli South, Ughelli North, Udu and Burutu local government areas, revealed that their passionate heart moved them toward their well-being and positive responses whenever members faced one challenge or another. they called upon him for help.
