General Manager and Editor-in-Chief of NewspapersMr. Gbenga Adefaye has been appointed rector of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, NIJ, Lagos.
A statement in Lagos by former Ogun State Governor Chief Olusegun Osoba, Chairman of the NIJ Governing Council, said that Gbenga Adefaye would serve as rector of the institution from September 1, 2020, pending the appointment of a new rector.
He succeeds the former rector, Mr. Gbemiga Oluleye, who has served his mandate with merit.
Adefaye was president for two terms of the Nigerian Publishers Guild.
The NIJ, established in 1963 by the International Press Institute, is a Nigerian monotechnical institute that grants diplomas and is located in Ogba, Ikeja, Lagos State.
