Before the 2023 general election, some political actors in Gombe state have reasoned that it was premature for Senator Danjuma Goje, representative of Gombe Central, to withdraw from politics.

Lidani said, “the voice of the people is the voice of God,” therefore Goje should listen to the people.

For his part, Gombe State Akko LGA Chairman Abubakar Barambu said that all the people in the Gombe Central Senate District have rejected Senator Goje’s retirement.

“Our people at the grassroots have given me the mandate to announce their support for Governor Yahaya to continue to steer the affairs of the state.

“They have also asked me to announce their endorsement of Senator Goje to continue representing them in Gombe Central in 2023. If he is tired, we are not tired of his representation.”
