President Muhammadu Buhari has sent a harsh warning to the bandits, saying that “the clock of his final destruction is ticking because he will no longer have a place to hide.”
Buhari said this while reacting to the killing of more than 30 people in Goronyo in Sokoto state on Sunday by bandits.
This was contained in a statement by Garba Shehu, the president’s chief special assistant for media and publicity, on Monday.
President Buhari said that “the days of the bandits are numbered because the military capabilities of our forces are being boosted by the acquisition and deployment of advanced equipment.”
According to him, “the bandits are living in the paradise of the invincibility of the fools, but the reality will soon become more difficult than ever”.
President Buhari added that “the bandits are currently under desperate pressure due to the intense and sustained air and ground operations against them in their hiding places by our security forces.
“The cowardly attacks on innocent people by bandits show a rearguard action by criminals under pressure. But they will have nowhere to hide and our brave security forces will not give up in the current offensive to defeat these cruel enemies of humanity, ”the president emphasized.
He called on all Nigerians “not to despair because this administration is more determined than ever to protect Nigerians from murderous criminal gangs who have no respect for the sanctity of life.”
The president expressed his condolences to the families of the victims of the Goronyo attack and asked the people to continue to be patient with military strategies on how to deal the crushing blow to these bandits. “
