Governor Adeleke visits Osun House of Assembly, vows to be fair


Osun State Governor, Ademola Adelekeon Monday he paid a courtesy call to the state House of Assembly during which he vowed to be fair to all, regardless of their political parties.

The governor was accompanied on the visit by his deputy, Kola Adewusi, the Secretary of the State Government, Teslim Igbalaye, the chief of staff, Kazeem Akinleye, the interim president of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Akindele Adekunle, and many caciques of the new ruler. party.

It was the first visit by the new government to the state House of Assembly dominated by members of the former ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), whose candidate, former Governor Gboyega Oyetola, Adeleke defeated in the July 18 election.

Last Tuesday, the governor had received leaders of the House of Assembly at his private residence in Ede.

Speaking in plenary this Monday, the governor promised to continue with all the projects started by the previous administration

Adeleke said her administration will promote a cordial relationship with lawmakers.

“I want to assure you here that my government will be fair to everyone. There should be no PDP or APC or any other party, for that matter, in our considerations, but hand over governance to the people of Osun,” he said.

“I want Osun to be the first and a benchmark in governance. This is possible if we work together for our people, as our collaboration will ensure a peaceful state and make it easier for investors to come here.”

The governor saluted the leadership of the Assembly for the support they have given him since he took office as state governor.

“Detractors had hoped that by now, Osun would go up in flames as a result of the friction between the Chamber and the Executive, but that is not happening. That is why I must congratulate the House, particularly the leadership, Mr. President, for putting the interest of the people of the state above all other considerations,” he added.

“It is my expectation that we continue on this path since that is what will bring the necessary benefits for the people of Osun. This administration views the House as an important partner and I want to assure you that we will be open and fair with you.”

In his remarks, Timothy Owoeye, Speaker of the House, expressed the willingness of House members to support the Governor in fulfilling his campaign promises to the people.

Mr. Owoeye stressed that the state legislature under his watch will prioritize the interest of the masses above all else.
