How I will address the nation’s security challenges

Peter Umeadi, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) presidential candidate, says he can address the security challenges facing the country.

Mr. Umeadi had this to say when speaking at the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) State of the Union Dialogue in Abuja.

He said he plans to take some steps, including a comprehensive overhaul of the security apparatus with a focus on the police to meet the challenges.

He added that maximum attention will be paid to the well-being of the police and the provision of adequate work tools.

“As the APGA presidential candidate, if elected in the general election, I will lead the country to overcome the insurgency.

“Police should be able to stay and fight and overcome internal security challenges with the necessary support.

“My manifesto’s philosophy of social progress is integral to helping the nation emerge from its current challenges by applying true federalism and the concept of effective decentralization of power.

“The problem of the Nigerian economy is not related to resources, but to mono-economic policies and the politicization of crude oil production tainted with corruption.

“This has made the resource more of a plague than a blessing,” he said.

Speaking, NBA President Yakubu Maikyau expressed his thanks to the participants and praised the initiators of the program.
