Former Speaker of the House of Representatives Ghali Na’Abba said Tuesday that the Southeast must select the best and submit them for selection in the 2023 presidential race.
The former speaker in a chat revealed that the Southeast has enough competent hands that can handle Nigerian affairs.
Na’Abba, who spoke when the National Movement for Political Equity, NPEM, led by its convener, Chibuzor Okereke, paid him a working visit.
He said that “some of my best friends are from the Southeast geopolitical zone who are well endowed and available to support me at any time.
Na’Abba, who passed through memory lane, said: “In 1999, the late Alex Ekwueme would have emerged as our presidential candidate were it not for the strong influence of the military because we believed in him.
“As today, there are a variety of competent Igbo leaders in the mold of Senator Ken Nnamani, Pius Anyim and several others from the Southeast who can conveniently handle our political affairs.
“If they bring incompetent hands, it can ruin their chance in 2023, if they bring good hands, I will support the Southeast.
Previously, in his statements, the convener of the movement, Chibuzor Okereke had thanked the former speaker for his support as a speaker and a true fighter for justice and equity.
He said “we are here to thank you and gather more of your source of knowledge.
