Following the accident that occurred in Igbo-Olomu, West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Lagos State, on Thursday, Lagos State Police Commissioner CP Hakeem Odumosu met with the conflicting parties in the area to negotiate peace.

Two advocacy groups had clashed on Thursday over the rejection of the sale of illicit drugs in Igbo-Olomu and the aftermath of the accident led to an undisclosed number of people injured and some undisclosed suspicious deaths, while some shacks were also burned .

The PC organized a reconciliation meeting, which took place on Friday, and was witnessed by the President of Ikorodu West LCDA, Hon. Princess Jumoke Ademehin, leader of the LCDA’s governing arm, Hon Agbaje Olomu, community leaders from Yoruba communities and Hausa, including Serki Hausawa from Ikorodu Division, Alhaji Shittu Idris, Division Chief Imam Arewa Ikorodu Malam Aminu, Engineer Adeleke Azeez, Mr. SO Oyeniran among others.

The PC appealed to them to tolerate each other and embrace peace to promote mutual coexistence in the areas.

He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, DCP Muhammed Ali, Second in Command, Rapid Response Squad, ACP Wale Ajao, Acting Area Commander, Area N, Ikorodu, CSP Balogun, Divisional Police Officer, Owutu, CSP Magret Okonkwo, DSP Quadri Raheem, Personal Assistant to the Police Commissioner and Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State, SP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.

The two groups condemned the ugly incident and agreed to reconcile and embrace peace after the meeting, while the Police Commissioner assured them the creation of a police post, after due consultation with the LCDA president, in the area. to bring the police to your doorstep and attend to your security needs.

Ikorodu West LCDA President, Hon Princess Jumoke Ademehin, thanked the Police Commissioner for his time and commitment to maintaining law and order in the state; and assured the police chief that more efforts will be made to promote peace among groups in the area.
