University of Calabar Vice Chancellor-Elect Professor Florence Banku Obi has asked the general public and unsuspecting individuals to ignore the fake Facebook account created in her name by scammers to defraud them.
The VC representative who said Tuesday that his attention was focused on a fake Facebook account created in his name “Florence Banku Obi”, as cloned.
She frowned at such acts which she described as dubious and fraudulent, warning the general public that the Facebook account was fake and could never emanate from it.
His words: “I have received several calls from close friends who said that the user of the false account demanded money for the job and contract at the University of Calabar.
“The aforementioned account does not belong to me. I want to use this medium to tell the general public not to do any business or transaction with a fake account created in my name, since anyone who does so is at their own risk and expense ”.
“The fraudster is dedicated to promising jobs, contracts, favors, connections among others.
He said law enforcement agencies have been tasked with doing what is necessary and anyone caught will face the wrath of the law, adding that such malicious act should never go unpunished.
