Good luck jonathan

Former President Goodluck Jonathan, has written a congratulatory message to the President-elect of the United States, Joe Biden, and his running mate, Kamala Harris, advising them both to be magnanimous in victory and please all Americans.

In his message titled: “Goodwill message to the President-elect of the United States, Joe Biden, and Vice President-elect, Kamala Harris, Jonathan called on the incoming government to partner with African nations to help the continent overcome the vicissitudes of the pandemic, leveraging existing trade and expanding new frontiers for cooperation.

Read his full statement below: “I congratulate President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris on their victory in the United States Presidential Election on November 3, 2020.

His choice is not only historical, it is also futuristic in the sense that it gives us an idea of what the future will be like: a world where race, gender and religion don’t matter as much as competition and ability.

The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior, and based on his tenure as Vice President of the United States of America between 2008 and 2016, I am fully convinced that as President, Mr. Biden will provide national and global leadership that will establish the post COVID19 world on a path of peace and prosperity.

In a nation sorely in need of healing, I urge the incoming administration to look beyond the parties and be magnanimous in victory, despite the controversial elections, and to consider all Americans, even those who were against their election, as brothers and sisters from the womb of a Mother, the United States of America.

I call on the incoming government to partner with African nations to help our continent overcome the vicissitudes of the pandemic, taking advantage of existing trade and expanding new frontiers for cooperation.

My special thoughts and prayers go out to Ms. Harris for making history as the first woman and the first person of African American descent to be elected Vice President of the United States.

This is a great step for her, and a great step for the Black Race and the female gender.

I pray that God will bless your joint tenure and that four years from now we will have a better world thanks to your stewardship. “
