In an attempt to solidify the state’s security architecture, the Lagos Police Command has relaunched its Crime Strategies to curb crime and crime across the state.

On Sunday, the command simultaneously carried out raids on identified black spots, reasonably believed to harbor criminals and thugs, in all fourteen (14) area commandos in Lagos State.

Disclosing this in a statement signed by PRO, SP OLUMUYIWA ADEJOBI, the force said its agents arrested seven hundred and twenty (720) suspects with incriminating items including locally made firearms and life-saving cartridges, charms, weed suspected of being hemp Indian, substances suspected of being cocaine and some items suspected of having been looted from various outlets within the state during the recent violence in Endsars.

Lagos State Police Commissioner CP Hakeem Odumosu, who combined his words with actions, had previously warned and directed police officers and men to act against anarchy and criminality in Lagos; affirmed the command’s zeal to sustain operations even beyond the Christmas season.

However, CP Hakeem Odumosu has ordered the deputy police commissioner in charge of SCID, panti, to launch a discreet investigation into the arrested suspects for immediate prosecution. He also urged those whose items were looted during the recent Endsars violence to file claims for their items with proof of ownership.

The police chief praised the officers and commando men for the successful operations, while tasking them on alert for more operations across the state.
