Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek has been told to pack his bags and leave the club if manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does not place him in the match against Manchester City.

Valentijn Driessen, a leading football analyst and columnist for De Telegraaf in the Netherlands, said that if “Solskjaer continues to ignore him,” then Van de Beek’s role in the delayed Euro 2020 will be in jeopardy.

The midfielder did not play any role in United’s squad during the Christmas and New Year games and this has raised concerns in the Netherlands.

Former Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal had said that Van de Beek made a mistake by joining the club from Ajax.

Manchester United signed the Dutchman after his impressive performance in Ajax’s central midfield last season.

However, it has been difficult for Van de Beek at Old Trafford, as Solskjaer rarely considers him in the first team selection.

Van de Beek’s final minutes came on December 23, when he started against Everton in the EFL Cup.

His last minutes in the Premier League were as a substitute when Manchester United beat Leeds United 6-2 on 20 December.

The De Telegraaf columnist wrote for the newspaper’s Monday edition, highlighting how the former Ajax stars have been struggling in Europe since they left the Dutch club.

Driessen gave Van de Beek special attention, stating that the Dutch international should “pack his bags immediately” if he does not play Manchester City in the EFL Cup this week.
