Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted that the form and fitness of his players need to improve, following their 1-0 loss to Aston Villa in a preseason friendly on Saturday.
Ollie Watkins’ first-half goal proved decisive at Villa Park.
It was the Red Devils’ first preseason game, after they were granted an extended layoff following their Europa League campaign.
“We said at halftime that we were playing great football at times and that we were in fantastic positions.
“But there was a lack of acuity and perhaps a lack of lungs because they are the first doors.
“But we have to be more clinical, we have to score those goals because then you go home happy. On the other hand, the result was not the main thing, “Solskjaer told MUTV.
