Barcelona captain Lionel Messi is closing in on the Argentine legend, Diego Maradona’s record of 59 career free throws after scoring on a double in his team’s 3-2 LaLiga win over him. Valencia on Sunday.

That’s just three of Maradona’s Argentina record of 59 career free throws.
Messi has already surpassed Manuel Pelegrina’s 45 and Daniel Passarella’s 43 in terms of free throw totals for his compatriots.
Messi now hopes to continue his impressive display when Barcelona take on Atlético de Madrid on May 8.
