Chelsea legend and former Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel has reacted to the death of Nasarawa United player Chieme Martins.
DAILY POSTCARD reported that Martins collapsed and died during one of the matches of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) last Sunday.
It was deduced that Martins collapsed after colliding with a Katsina United player.
Efforts to resurrect Martins turned out to be abortive, as the defender finally abandoned the ghost before he was taken to the hospital.
Reacting, Mikel Obi went to his Instagram page on Tuesday to mourn the late Martins.
He shared his sympathy with the family and friends of the 22-year-old star.
Trabzonspor midfielder wrote: "Rest in peace, my prayers and thoughts are with your family," accompanied by an emoji crying in the photo of Martins.
