Mobs kill six bandits in southern Kaduna

The security agencies have informed the Kaduna state government about the killing of six bandits by mobs in the Sanga and Lere local government areas in Kaduna state.

According to operational comments, on December 24, 2020 in Fadan Karshi in the Sanga local government area, two bandits attacked a businessman and stripped him of money and other valuables.

The commissioner of the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna state, said that upon receiving the distress call, the army and the police went to the scene. However, upon reaching the scene, some angry locals had already lynched the bandits and reduced them to ashes.

In the same local government, on Thursday night, armed bandits opened fire on motorists on the Aboro-Kafanchan highway.

The bullets hit a Richard Sabo who, while driving, killed one of the bandits. Sadly, Mr. Sabo, who suffered gunshot wounds, was confirmed dead at Gwantu General Hospital.

In the local government of Lere, security agencies reported that some bandits from a neighboring state who specialized in stealing cattle were also killed through mob action.

According to the report, the bandits were hunted down and overpowered in the village of Domawa, where three of them met their end at the hands of the mob.

On a sad note, the government is receiving a report about the murder of a commercial motorcyclist, one Hudu Yahaya from Ungwan Nungu village from the local Sanga government. He was beheaded by bandits who escaped with his motorcycle.

Governor Nasir El-Rufai sent his condolences to the families of Richard Sabo and Hudu Yahaya and prayed for the rest of their souls.

The Governor has also made a strong appeal to the public to continue resorting to the law and not to jungle justice.
