Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi says that the most prominent Nigerians will still benefit from the naming of Federal Government railway stations across the country.

Amaechi, in a statement from his media assistant, Ms. Taiye Elebiyo-Edeni, said that the late Alhaji Waziri Mohammed, however, would be named after a larger railway station.

The Minister was reacting to the Nigerian Railway Workers Union (NUR) demand to reverse the appointment of the Apapa train station in honor of the late Muhammad.

The minister recently named the Apapa train station, “Sen. Bola Tinubu Station.

Amaechi said: “We are naming a larger station after Waziri Mohammed.”

Previously, the Secretary General of (NUR), Mr. Segundo Esan, demanded the immediate revocation of the name of the Apapa train station too late Mohammed.

According to him, Mohammed, until his death was the President of the Nigerian Railways Board.

He said it would be appropriate to name the Apapa station in honor of Mohammed, who died while on active duty, as a mark of his excellent contributions to nation building.
