Three former executives of the Niger State Congress of All Progressives, APC, have filed a lawsuit against their colleagues in the Bosso Court of First Instance for alleged conspiracy and defamation of character.
Three people in a joint lawsuit include former state APC chair Jibrin Imam, attorney secretary Muhammed Liman and treasurer Dr. Shaffi’i Abdulsalam.
They accused former party executives of conspiring and maliciously posting and giving interviews on the grounds that they misappropriated state party funds.
The trio prayed to the court to learn of the crimes contrary to articles 97 and 392 of the Law of the Penal Code and tried the accused accordingly.
However, the defendants’ attorney, Barrister Bukani, raised preliminary objections that his clients were not in court because they were not directly served with a subpoena.
The complainants’ lawyer, Barrister Leri, told the court that the presence of the defendants was necessary given the criminal case against them.
However, the Court of First Instance, Ibrahim Shaba, suspended the session for tomorrow for an additional hearing.
