The Nigerian Publishers Guild has praised the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu on the quantity of quality roads executed by the Governor in the State.
The editors affirmed this after Works Commissioner Dr. Bob Ogu, in the company of his Information counterpart, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, led some of the Governor’s completed and ongoing projects.
According to Dr. Ogu, the Osisioma flyover in Aba, will be completed by May 29 this year, while reconstruction work on the adjacent roads leading through the interchange will continue, emphasizing that the flyover is being performed in accordance with the global standard.
He stated that most of the completed roads and others under construction were made with rigid pavement technology and have a useful life of no less than thirty years each.
Also speaking while on Ngwa Road, one of the ongoing road projects, Dr. Ogu said that plans were underway to complete the road before the end of this year, adding that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s goal is to link all the main economic factors. hubs in Aba with a good road network.
Some of the roads visited include the recently rebuilt Aba-Owerri Road, Immaculate Avenue, ABSUTH Road, MCC, SAMEK, Eziukwu, Osusu Road, Milverton and all of their adjacent roads.
Others are the recently completed and rebuilt Osokwa-Aro Umuejie-Omoba roads, Ngwa Road, Emelogu, Aba-Ikot Ekpene Road, Ehere, Umuola, Ukaegbu, Obikabia and the Enyimba automated shoe factory.
Speaking after the tour, Guild members expressed surprise at the quality and quantity of roads made by the administration within, and those leading to the commercial hub of the state, and urged the Governor not to rest on his laurels but to continue its urban renewal and rural access programs that they said were already improving the face of the state.
