The APC decision of the All Progressives Congress rejected reports on social media that it had come up with a zoning formula for the offices of its NWC National Labor Committee prior to its planned National Convention.
The party’s undersecretary for National Advertising, Yekini Nabena, in a statement on Tuesday, said zoning of party offices was never on the agenda at the inaugural meeting of the Planning Committee for the Extraordinary National Convention.
He said; “An alleged zoning arrangement for the APC Congress of All Progressives National Convention that has gone viral on social media is false.
Party members, supporters, stakeholders, and indeed the general public are advised to ignore false news.
“The inaugural meeting of the Planning Committee for the Extraordinary National Convention and Caregiver (CEONCPC) that was held at the APC National Secretariat on Monday did not discuss or issue the false zoning agreement for the planned National Convention.”
According to Nabena, if a zoning agreement is made for the planned National Convention, it will be officially communicated and published.
He said the committee at its inaugural meeting unanimously adopted a six-point working document intended to reposition the party.
“Members also renewed their commitment to work as a family in the interest of the party and called upon all leaders and members to provide full cooperation to the Committee in carrying out its duties / mandate.
“The meeting also approved the composition of the following Committees: Edo State National Campaign Council; The Consultation / Reconciliation Committees for the Edo and Ondo States before the next governor elections, ”he added.
