Ogun State Police Command operatives yesterday arrested two members of the feared Aiye cult group at different locations by state operatives.
Following the distress call, the SWAT commander, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Kalejaye Olanrewaju, quickly led his men to the scene.
Seeing the policemen, the cultists ran in different directions, but were chased and Habeeb Muideen was arrested in Iberekodo, while Ibrahim was arrested in the Ajitadun area of the metropolis.
The two suspects are currently being questioned at the SWAT office to determine their role in the standoff, which left one Eiye member dead. Attacked battle axes and amulets were recovered from the arrested suspects.
MEANWHILE, no fewer than 37 members of various cult groups have been arrested in the last month as the Command began to crack down on cults across the state.
The state Police Commissioner, Lanre Bankole, has ordered a comprehensive manhunt for members of the fleeing groups.
