Zulum

Borno Governor Babagana Zulum has again urged members of Boko Haram to stop the killings and surrender.

Zulum made the call on Wednesday at the launch of the Civil Joint Task Force (CJTF) Super Camp and lists of key members wanted by Boko Haram in Chabbal in the Konduga Local Government Area.

Zulum said the insurgents needed to realize that they were only killing their brothers and sisters and destroying their parents’ property.

“For those who are still in the jungle terrorizing innocent lives and property, I still ask you to surrender.

“You are killing your brothers and sisters, destroying our structures that were built with money from your ancestor,” Zulum said.

He praised the Army Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General. Tukur Buratai, for simplifying the operations of the CJTF into those of the army, adding that it would improve the insurgency’s fight.

Zulum reiterated his administration’s commitment to support the military and the CJTF so that they continue to deliver in the fight against the insurgency.
The governor announced a donation of 100 motorcycles to members of the CJTF to boost their operations in rural areas.

He urged the people of Borno to give the armed forces and other security agencies their maximum support in the new attack against the Boko Haram terrorists.

Buratai and Operation Theater Commander Lafiya Dole, Major General. Farouk Yahaya, praised the role of CJTF as indigenous people from Borno who understand the terrain in the insurgency fight.

They praised the Borno government’s support in the fight against the insurgency and assured it of the military’s commitment to confront the insurgents.
