Defense Headquarters says Operation Lafiya Dole Air Task Force has shot down more terrorist hideouts, killing dozens at two locations in Borno.

The Coordinator, Defense Media Operations, Major General. John Enenche, in a statement Sunday, said the attacks took place on Saturday in the Kote Kura and Bulama Isamari communities in Borno.

Enenche said the Air Task Force employed appropriate force packages of Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets and helicopter gunships based on credible intelligence.

He said intelligence revealed that Boko Haram terrorists had set up camps within the two settlements where they store their logistics, as well as plan and launch attacks.

According to him, above Kote Kura, a settlement in the Bama area, the NAF strike plane engaged dozens of terrorists observed in the target area.

“The attack caused the neutralization of several of them, as well as the destruction of logistics structures and warehouses, some of which were engulfed in flames.

“Along the same lines, in Bulama Isamari, inside the Timbuktu Traingle, the NAF planes took turns attacking the target, achieving precise hits that also resulted in the neutralization of several terrorists,” he said. (YAYA)
