By Shina Abubakar, Osogbo

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II has called on the government at all levels to create job opportunities to pacify angry and hungry Nigerian youth to stop the uprising.
.
The monarch, while speaking at the beginning of his fifth anniversary, said he has concluded plans to empower 5,000 young people and ensure their financial independence.

A statement issued by his spokesman, Moses Olafare on Sunday stated that the monarch emphasized the need to continually pacify the young population in the country by creating meaningful employment opportunities for them.

The monarch who oversaw the certification of the second groups of graduates from the Ojaja II Fashion Training Institute, said his goal was to ensure that graduates become employers of labor rather than looking for unavailable jobs, stressing that each level of government should support them through training, mentoring, and other empowerment initiatives.

“Young people are angry because they are hungry and the way to get them out of this anger is to continue to strengthen them. In keeping with the celebration of my 5 years on the throne, I have laid out plans to empower 5,000 youth to be financially independent and to feed others.

“I hereby ask Nigerian leaders, whether in politics, traditional or religious, to know that empowering young people is now a necessity. From our profits, let’s dedicate part to the empowerment of the youth in our areas, we must consider this as a necessity and what should be done on a regular basis.

“We have just had a taste of youth unease and it should be a lesson to all of us that no one can handle their anger, so it is about time that we know that it is stupid to keep money in the bank while the needy continue. wallowing in extreme poverty.

On the need to assign constitutional roles to traditional rulers, Ooni Ogunwusi explained that this would accelerate Nigeria’s path to prosperity as the traditional rulers remain the closest to the people.
.
“We were with the president two weeks ago and the issue was discussed and we are making progress. We have roles to play, we do not compete with them and I think we will achieve it ”. The Ooni added.

  1. At the event, 65 young people who successfully completed their training as fashion designers were trained with instruments and equipment purchased by Ooni, with the support of International Breweries, Ilesa and other partners.

Speaking on behalf of other recipients, Adebisi Comfort thanked Ooni for the gift of new work equipment and training that she rated as the best.

“I am so happy for today and I don’t even know what to say that to continue thanking Kabiyesi, I wish him a long and healthy reign on the throne of Oduduwa.” Comfort explained.

Similarly, some victims of human trafficking who were repatriated from Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Omar, and other parts of the world broke into the palace to thank His Imperial Majesty for giving them a new life.

Speaking on behalf of the 55 women, Oluwaseun Omolara explained that Ooni saved her and her colleagues from the clutches of premature deaths, as they lived in dehumanizing conditions prior to the monarch’s interventions.
